Commercial, like residential development, is dependent on a ready supply of water for drinking and other purposes. For that reason, HRACRE backs creation of new reservoir facilities, when the need is clearly demonstrated and reasonable environmental concerns have been addressed. That is the case in regards to the King William Reservoir on the Virginia Peninsula.
In addition HRACRE advocates consolidation of the permit process at the state level by authorizing one agency to control final approval of water projects, after careful review of all input from regulatory agencies and interested parties. This “one-stop” shopping approach is a sound course of action and will put an end to the partisan politics that have marred progress |
